2027/28 Volleyball Tryouts

Volleyball tryouts for Stream Valley's girls U11-U14 volleyball teams will take place on:

Saturday, October 10th, 4-6 pm (U11 and U12 teams)
Sunday, October 11th, 6-8 pm (U13 and U14 teams)

Team Tryouts are open to all athletes 10-14 years old, regardless of their prior affiliation or participation in Stream Valley Volleyball or other volleyball programs.

What to Expect at Club Volleyball Tryouts?

During our volleyball tryouts, players can expect a structured evaluation of their fundamental skills, including serving, passing, setting, and movement.

These tryouts are designed to assess each athlete's current abilities and potential fit for team placement, with opportunities to inquire about our volleyball club and learn more about our volleyball training programs. Registration fees for tryouts will apply.

What happens next after team tryouts?

Team Commitment

Stream Valley intends to form two teams in each age group:

Blue team (more competitive and more expensive, requires more travel) to compete in the NCVA Power League and Far Westerns American Division
Green team (less expensive, travels mostly within the Bay Area) to compete in the WCVBA Regional League and Far Westerns NoDinx Division

Each team includes 10-12 players: 2 liberos or defensive specialists, 2 middles, 2 setters, and 4-6 hitters (outside and opposite).

Our coaches and administrators extend offers to selected athletes within 24-48 hrs after tryouts and expect oral commitment from families within 24 hrs after receiving the offer ("We're in" or "We're out").

Formal signing ceremony will take place on October 15th at Harvest Park Middle School Gym. Players and families will meet their teammates and coaches, try on club uniforms, sign their commitment letters for the season, submit required paperwork, and pay the non-refundable part of the season fees.

Volleyball Season

First team practice is scheduled for October 20th, 2026
After training together through November and December, our teams start traveling to tournaments 1-2 weekends each month, January through May, for a total of 13 tournament days (7-8 weekends) per season.
Tentative tournament schedule 2026/27
The most important event of the year is the Far Westerns National Qualifier, hosted in April in Reno, NV. All athletes in age groups U12 and above must commit to going to Reno when they accept a place on our teams.

NCVA Tryout Pass

All athletes participating in Stream Valley volleyball club tryouts must hold a current membership with USA Volleyball and the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA). Tryout passes can be purchased through the Sports Engine platform. NCVA tryout pass allows an athlete to participate in all club volleyball tryouts around Northern California
